Injuries

Muscle Strain

Muscle strain is the most common injury in tennis. Overuse of muscles and bones become common in players, as the repetetive motions of swinging a racket can lead to the strain that is so common. An example of such is tennis elbow, where the muscles are most impacted by the ball hitting the racket. Carpal tunnel also occurs in tennis players, in addition to wrist strain and fracture. Knee Injuries

Tennis players run and jump over and over again during the course of the match. Because of this they can develop patellofemoral pain syndrome (when the kneecap rubs against the bones of the leg), or patella tendonitis (when the knee tendons are damaged from repetetive strain). Arthritis is also a common problem that begins to set in.
